Everton have completed the signing of Merlin Rohl from Bundesliga outfit Freiburg.
David Moyes added nine new additions to his Everton squad, shelling out in excess of £100m on transfer fees.
Rohl joined on deadline day, with the Toffees agreeing an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy set at around £18m.
Moyes has tracked the German midfielder for some time, dating back to his tenure as West Ham United manager.
The 23-year-old sat down with Evertontv for his first interview, and fans have been left highly impressed by how he spoke.

Everton fans blown away by Merlin Rohl’s first interview
Sometimes, first interviews with a new signing can be fairly generic, with not a great deal to take from them.
However, that certainly isn’t the case for Rohl, as he gave some really interesting answers which show just how mature and intelligent he is, despite only celebrating his 23rd birthday in July.
@jonathanhaddock3481 wrote: “Comes across as a very intelligent, knowledgeable guy with clear understanding and ambition. I hope he plays as well as he sounds! Welcome Merlin!!!”
“Another humble lad who wants to work hard for the club, wonderful recruitment this window,” @SlendermanXXI added.
“That’s one of the most impressive interviews I’ve ever seen from a new player,” @davidford3667 commented.
@mvagusta added: “Super impressive. Mature, intelligent, and good values. Let’s go Merlin!”
@dodibenabba525 said: “What a refreshing attitude! I’ve got a German Fellaini feeling about this guy.”
“What a lovely young man. He instantly has my backing and support based on his morals and values alone. Good luck sir,” @martinp485 explained.
@RonVaughan noted: “What a great attitude, sensible and hardworking. I reckon he could easily become an Everton legend. Great signing.”
Merlin Rohl could become David Moyes’ new Marouane Fellaini
Rohl stands at around 6ft 3in tall and has the qualities needed to become a goalscoring threat from midfield.
Moyes has wanted his very own Marouane Fellaini mark two since returning to the club in January, and even tried to sign Tomas Soucek from West Ham United.
Ultimately, it was Rohl whom they went for in the end, and he’s expected to play in a similar role to Fellaini.
Bundesliga expert Ruairidh Petre reckons Rohl’s best position is in the number 10, but he can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder.
Moyes has a very versatile player at his disposal, so he can even cover for Idrissa Gana Gueye if he needs a rest.
