Everton are mulling over whether to make Tyrique George’s loan deal permanent.

Tyrique George joined Everton from Chelsea during the January transfer window on an initial loan deal.

David Moyes and his recruitment chiefs decided to place a £22m option to buy in his contract, so they must make an imminent decision on whether to activate it.

Whilst the Toffees ponder, there has been a transfer development on George ahead of the window opening on Monday, the 15th of June.

Other clubs now want to sign Tyrique George

George didn’t get much game time at Everton, but it seems he’s done enough to alert other clubs to his potential availability.

According to The Athletic, there are unnamed suitors ready to pounce on the England under-21 international if Everton opt against signing him permanently.

There has been speculation that Newcastle United are one of the clubs having a real close look at George.

The Toffees are still in pole position, as they’ll no doubt have first refusal, but George would still have to agree on personal terms.

That said, the 20-year-old may be hesitant to return to Finch Farm as Moyes has a growing track record of not giving young players enough game time.

Tyler Dibling’s career has been completely stunted under the Scotsman, and so too has Adam Aznou’s, who was considered one of the most promising left-backs in LaLiga during the 2024/25 season.

So, these are certainly considerations George and his team will make ahead of deciding the next step in his career.
