Opta predicts the result when Everton face Man City this weekend

Everton take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The October international break is almost finished, so Everton’s internationals will be making their way back to Finch Farm over the next few days.

David Moyes’ side went into the break off the back of a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace, so they will be keen to continue that momentum into the Man City game.

Pep Guardiola’s men currently reside in fifth place, and have dropped points in three games so far, so they haven’t been on top form by any means.

With that said, Opta’s supercomputer has now predicted the outcome of the Etihad clash.

Supercomputer predicts Everton vs Manchester City

Despite just two points separating Everton and Manchester City in the Premier League table, Opta’s supercomputer have Man City as the heavy favourites.

The software have given the Toffees just a 22.5% chance of winning, with a draw considered 23.8% likely.

City have 53.7% chance of getting the three points, although this fixture last season saw Sean Dyche’s side pick up a draw.

Iliman Ndiaye cancelled out Bernardo Silva’s opener and Jordan Pickford saved an Erling Haaland penalty.

Everton’s recent record vs Man City

Recent history tells you that Everton don’t have the best chance of picking up a result against Man City, as they’ve lost four of their last five meetings.

The most recent meeting came back in April, and Guardiola’s men were able to pick up a 2-0 win at Goodison Park.

Although, it took until the 84th minute for the Citizens to break the deadlock through Nico O’Reilly, and then Mateo Kovacic rounded off the scoring in stoppage time.

Everton will certainly be hard to beat on Saturday, but they will be without their talisman Jack Grealish, who isn’t eligible to play against his parent club.
