£20m Everton target left out of Arsenal’s matchday squad days after David Moyes registers interest

Everton manager David Moyes is still looking to get at least four more fresh faces through the door before the end of the window.

Moyes admitted last month that the summer has been a struggle, with many of his top targets rejecting a move to Merseyside.

Everton have managed to sign Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this month, though, and they’re expected to feature against Leeds United this evening.

The Scotsman is desperate to sign a right-winger and a right-back, and he has also explored a deal to sign a centre-back.

With that said, there is now a fresh update about a rumoured £20m transfer target.

Everton target Jakub Kiwior left out of Arsenal squad

Everton registered an interest in Jakub Kiwior last week, which comes days after Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury in training.

Kiwior is a left-footed defender, just like Branthwaite, so it’s clear that Moyes wants to sign a like-for-like in the final two weeks of the window.

The Poland international was left out of Arsenal’s matchday squad against Manchester United on Sunday, which indicates there could be something in the pipeline.

However, unfortunately for Everton, it seems as though Porto are in the driving seat at the moment, as they’re pushing to strike a deal.

Kiwior wants to leave England

It’s also claimed that Kiwior wants to leave the Premier League and move abroad, so even if Everton were to match any forthcoming offers from Porto, they’re already at a disavantage.

It seems Moyes and his chiefs will have to explore other targets, with Burnley’s Maxime Esteve previously linked to Everton.

Esteve was earmarked as a Branthwaite replacement earlier in the window but he’s since signed a new deal with the Clarets.

David Hancko was another left-footed defender they had a look at, but he’s also off the table having joined Atletico Madrid.
