The Everton academy has a rich history of developing future first-team players. The likes of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Gordon and Tom Davies have all come through the Toffees’ U21s.
First-team manager Sean Dyche has an Everton academy alumnus in his squad at Goodison Park, as well, in Lewis Dobbin. The winger joined the Toffees at 11 years old and rose through their teams with a sensational strike rate. He was also their 2019/20 U18s Player of the Year.
Everton’s current group of Under-21 prospects represent the Merseyside club in the Premier League 2. It features all 26 teams with a Category 1 academy as of the 2023/24 term. While Paul Tait took over as their U21 manager in July 2022 after five years in charge of their U18s.
