“The Friedkin Group is a diverse family of companies with a global footprint spanning industries such as sports, automotive, entertainment, hospitality, and adventure. Across all our endeavours, we strive to deliver extraordinary experiences that ignite people’s passions. We are thrilled to bring this ethos to Everton and the Liverpool City Region.

“Whilst we are new to the Club, we fully understand the vital role Everton plays in local culture, history, and the lives of Evertonians here and around the world. We are deeply committed to honouring this legacy while contributing positively to the community, economy, and people of this remarkable city.”

What other football club does the Friedkin Group own?

Everton have become the second football club that the Friedkin Group has added to its investment portfolio in recent years, with the other being Serie A giants AS Roma.

The Friedkin Group purchased Roma back in 2020 to a reported £500m, taking control of the club from fellow American business owner Jim Palotta, with Dan Friedkin becoming the club’s president in the process.

Since then, the Friedkin Group have not been afraid to spend in order to make Roma a competitive team in both Italy and on the continent.

Their investment has led to some success, with the club winning their first European trophy since 1961 during the 2021/22 season – lifting the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022.

However, one thing that proved to be a valid concern for Sean Dyche was how quickly the Friedkin Group changed managers during their time as Roma’s owners.

Between 2020 and Roma owners the Friedkin Group buying Everton, the Serie A side had five different managers – including four in 2024 alone.

So, it was of little surprise when the Friedkin Group sacked Dyche in January 2025 and named David Moyes as the manager of Everton again after 12 years away.
