Romelu Lukaku declares his love for Everton amid rumours of a potential return
TEAMtalk recently claimed that Lukaku would like to return to the Premier League as the Belgium international considers his next move.
If Everton firm up their interest with a concrete approach, it very much feels like the 33-year-old would consider returning based on what he said about the Toffees on Instagram.
After Everton posted footage of the best moments from Lukaku’s time on Merseyside to celebrate his 33rd birthday on Wednesday, the striker wrote in response: “When Everton touches you 💙 The fans, the players, the community. You guys are amazing. Thank you for the support 💙.”
Clearly, there is still a lot of love between Everton and the man born in Antwerp.
Lukaku – who Napoli signed from Chelsea for £30m back in August 2024 – has netted 15 goals in 45 appearances for the Italian giants since returning to Serie A, also providing 11 assists.
It remains to be seen how much Napoli demand for a sale this summer, but considering the former Everton man will only have 12 months left on his contract at the end of the season, we can envisage the Italian side agreeing to a cut-price deal.
