Everton’s takeover at the hands of 777 Partners has confused many, given the drawn-out nature of a process that Farhad Moshiri is seemingly desperate to see completed.

The Iranian admittedly tried his best to succeed with the Merseyside outfit, and ploughed enough money in to showcase that desire.

However, it was that financial injection, alongside his clueless planning, that has proven to be the worst thing that could have ever happened to the club.

Back-to-back relegation battles are a damning indication of his failure to progress a sleeping giant, who he still has in a chokehold.

However, some fans still subscribe to the theory of ‘better the devil you know’, given the controversies surrounding their potential new owners.

Seeing one of their directors in Johannes Spors come out recently to talk about Everton did ease some worries though, as he essentially admitted that the club would be the jewel in their multi-club crown, nabbing the cream of the crop from the likes of Hertha Berlin, Standard Liege and Genoa.

Well, fans of the German outfit did not like that, and the 41-year-old has now had to renounce his claims in a recent chat with BILD.

He noted: ‘We don’t force transfers, the clubs do very independent squad planning,” he is quoted as saying.

‘But if the need meets the possibility of a transfer, we try to implement it, although it is always about the players’ individual career paths. Hertha BSC is neither a farm team nor do we have to worry about our talents.

‘The dialogue with 777 Partners and its clubs is good, constructive and intentional. Meaningful synergies are created.“The coordination and exchange in the areas of analysis, performance and player development as well as data evaluation help us a lot and take place on a trusting and cooperative level.’

Will 777 Partners take over Everton?

Despite having agreed a deal to a deal with Moshiri back in September, it seems that there are many obstacles in the way of 777 Partners actually completing the takeover.

After all, the Premier League have hardly been kind to Everton this season, and there is little expectation that they will overcome their biases to do the club a favour.

Especially when there are still large question marks over their ability to actually fund the move, and the administration threat that looms should they pull out.

Few could predict when a decision might be made, but at this point, fans will just want it sorted.

It has dragged on for too long, and whether they would be at the top of 777 Partners’ food chain is irrelevant. Sean Dyche and the club just need some clarity, for once, to actually make a success out of them.
