777 Partners are in the process of assuming ownership of Everton.

As reported by Sky Sports, the regulatory processes surrounding 777 Partners’ takeover of Everton are well underway.

Just over a week ago, representatives of 777 Partners sent a message to the Everton fanbase via the club’s official website.

Full, official confirmation of their takeover cannot be far away.

As such, many Everton fans will be keen to learn more about what the prospective new owners have planned for the Merseyside club.

To this end, Andres Blazquez, an operating partner in 777 and CEO of Italian side Genoa, recently spoke to Sky Sports about the investment group’s ambitions for the Toffees.

He said, “what we say we do, we do…we tend to be basically independent at each club, and help each club solve its own problems, with the help of the holding, with help financially and operationally. It takes time. Our goal is that the club be sustainable.”

Overhaul needed at Everton

777 are certainly coming into Everton at a pivotal moment in the club’s decorated history. At the end of the current campaign, the Toffees will say goodbye to Goodison Park, which has been their home since 1892, before moving into their new ground that is currently under development at Bramley-Moore Dock.

On the pitch, there are also concerns over Everton’s ability to retain their Premier League status this season. Sean Dyche kept the Toffees up by the skin of their teeth last season, and his side endured a dreadful start to the new campaign. However, form has improved in recent weeks.

To get the club heading in the right direction once again will no be easy feat, or come as a consequence of any quick fix approach. This club needs investment and the right people being appointed in the right roles. There is huge, long-untapped potential for success at Everton, though, which has no doubt attracted 777.

Everton fans will be hoping that 777 Partners are able to make good on their promises. Most Everton fans will be happy to see current owner Farhad Moshiri go, but will be wary about the incoming investors.
