Everton are sniffing around Ewood Park ahead of the summer transfer window.
Fans have already been told to keep an eye on Ryan Alebiosu after the Blackburn No.2 made a name for himself this season at right-back, a position David Moyes is keen to strengthen.
Hungarian news outlet Csakfoci recently added that Everton want Balazs Toth as well – and have opened talks over a potential deal for the goalkeeper.
Now, an update from Alan Nixon on Patreon claims Blackburn are set to offer the Hungary international a new contract in a bid to fend off interest from the Toffees.
Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?
The following names have been suggested by fans on TalkingPoints…
Blackburn working to keep Balazs Toth away from Everton
Toth has just under 12 months remaining on his current deal – which he signed back in August 2024 following a £1m move from Fehervar – and Everton sense an opportunity to take advantage.
Any successful move for the 28-year-old would only see him arrive at Everton to deputise for Jordan Pickford, raising some doubt over the future of his current understudy Mark Travers, who remains under contract until July 2029.
Moyes also has Tom King in the goalkeeping department – who is contracted until July 2027 – so the interest in Toth suggests one goalkeeper might be leaving Everton this summer.
It is also worth noting that Everton have a talented goalkeeping prospect in George Pickford – who could become the understudy to his namesake in future.
Toth enjoyed a strong season for Blackburn – his haul of nine clean sheets in 34 appearances helped Rovers finish 20th and remain in the Championship – but those at Ewood Park now face a battle to keep their glovesman around.
How would you have the side lined up if you were David Moyes? 🤩
Let's hope Beto is ready to go on Monday! 🤕
However, a move to Everton – where Pickford reigns supreme – would surely signal the end of his time as a regular starter, so the Toffees may have to be quite persuasive to convince the Hungarian to join.
