Everton could be in trouble if they sell Demarai Gray this summer.
That’s according to journalist Graeme Bailey, who believes the winger is one of their best players.
Gray’s arrival at Goodison Park was a surprising one when he was signed for only £1.7 million from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021.
The 26-year-old had previously struggled to make his mark in the Premier League but has been one of the Toffees’ most important players, netting nine goals over the last two seasons, including a stunning equaliser against Manchester City in December.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Gray would be open to leaving Merseyside this summer, with Fulham one club that are interested in signing him.
Bailey is adamant that Gray’s potential exit would be very bad news for the club.

Speaking on Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel, Bailey said: “Demarai Gray is one of their best players. He was a shining light last season. He’s a wonderful player.
“I think if they lost Demarai Gray… I don’t know where they would go.
“They have got money problems, we knew that. It’s going to be a long summer for Everton and a long season.”
Everton need to keep hold of Demarai Gray
While Everton fans will be desperate to see improvements in their attack this summer, they are in no position to be selling Demarai Gray.

The attacker has been the best of a bad bunch since his move from Germany and the Sean Dyche would be left with very few options if they let him leave.
Fulham may also spend the season around a similar position to the Toffees – whether that be mid table or the bottom half – so selling one of their star players to their rivals would be a huge mistake.
