Everton fans may not have enjoyed the desired result yesterday, but they certainly made their feelings known on recent matters.

As the teams walked out, and on the tenth minute, a sea of pink lit up Goodison Park as boos rang out. This is a fanbase not to take their points deduction lying down.

Banners were strewn across the Gwladys Street end, and in a triumphant display of unity the home crowd stood firm in a protest that even Sky Sports could not quell.

Whilst that raucous atmosphere took a severe dent when Alejandro Garnacho fired in a Goal of the Season contender after just three minutes, it remained upbeat throughout the clash, with the players even applauded off at full-time despite the 3-0 scoreline.

In years gone by, such a result would instead been met by a chorus of boos. It seems like perhaps, amid all the unrest, Everton might actually be healing.

Abdoulaye Doucoure would take to X to praise the support received, before issuing a promise to those who have stuck by their side for so long now.

The £130k-per-week ace wrote: ‘Tough one to take tonight but never seen Goodison so rocking , absolutely brilliant from our fans. We’ve be there before and we will fought once more and even harder until the end of the season !’
