Everton are interested in signing Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, and former Toffees’ player James McFadden was very impressed with him last season.

Indeed, as per reports in the Daily Mail, Everton are looking to bring the 21-year-old Summerville to Goodison Park this summer.

The young Dutch star impressed during his time at Elland Road, but looks set to leave the Yorkshire club following their relegation to the Championship.

Everton need to strengthen their attacking options, and James McFadden’s comments about Summerville’s performances for Leeds last season bode well.

Speaking on behalf of BBC Radio 5 Live, and reported via BBC Sport, McFadden watched on as Leeds overcame Bournemouth in a dramatic 4-3 victory, as Summerville had an influential impact on proceedings.

Winning a penalty just minutes into the tie, Summerville’s pace and direct play impressed the former Everton player, who stated: “That’s absolutely electric from Summerville and the pace that he shows to get on the end of it and win the penalty.

Direct running and it’s clumsy from (Marcos) Senesi. What a start for Leeds.”

In a tense fixture, Bournemouth fought back and with the score at 3-3 with just six minutes of regulation time remaining, Summerville’s impact on the game was once again apparent.

Latching onto a pass from Willy Gnonto, who has also been linked with a move to Everton, Summerville kept his composure with a cool finish past Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers to secure all three points for Leeds.

Crysencio Summerville could be an exciting addition for Everton, if they can beat the rest to his signature

The signing of such an impactful player in the attacking third cannot be underestimated for Everton this summer as the club look to avoid a third straight relegation scrap.

However, Everton will have to fight for Summerville’s signature, with reports in TEAMtalk stating that Spanish side Sevilla are also interested.
