Being an Everton fan is resigning yourself to a lifetime of misery and turmoil it seems, and that has never been more poignant than this season.
After all, it has been one of mass unrest, with so many different facets negatively affecting the players, coaching staff and fanbase.
However, easily the most worrying threat that has emerged from this campaign has been one of administration, with Farhad Moshiri’s absence and desperation to sell to 777 Partners throwing that possibility into reality.
It marks a terrifying but very credible prospect, and one which has now been outlined in this fresh publication.
Administration could be calling for Everton
In a damning report by The Telegraph, released earlier today, they detailed the worrying options that Everton have laid out in front of them.
As if things could not get much worse, this emerged just after the Toffees’ had crumbled to a 6-0 defeat too. Not a good few days to be an Evertonian, although there seldom are any nowadays.

Regardless, journalist Ben Rumsby writes how there are now a number of potential scenarios for the club to progress with the takeover, one of which could spell desolation.
It reads: ‘Another source, however, described administration as a “very real possibility”, adding: “There are three or four main scenarios. The first one is the extension is granted but it’s granted with a price attached to it. That could be an additional payment to MSP. It could be equity. It could be more favourable loan terms.
“If it isn’t granted then MSP takes the equity and either tries to line up somebody else as a buyer. The third scenario is probably the administration scenario.”’
It was detailed last night that MSP have just granted Moshiri and 777 Partners the loan extension they were seeking.
Everton’s week just gets worse and worse
It truly feels like there is no end in sight for Everton in what has been a tough start to the week in an otherwise maddening year.
Whether it be results on the pitch, takeover controversy of fighting against PSR charges, the club are being forced to wage wars on multiple fronts, and for the players and those behind the scenes it must be exhausting.
And whilst that does not excuse performances last night, it does go a long way towards understanding the troubles that are likely plaguing them.
With administration threatened and a 6-0 drubbing to kickstart the week, Sunday marks the all-important match-up now, which they simply cannot afford to lose.

If they are to be turned over at Goodison Park by relegation rivals Nottingham Forest, which would see them leapfrog Everton, it might be the final nail in the coffin that truly kills off this giant of a club.
