Everton finally seem set to learn the outcome of their unrelenting takeover saga.
In a process that has dragged on for eight months now, 777 Partners’ gross misconduct has completely dominated the Premier League season and only added to the turmoil felt by Sean Dyche and his players.
For an organisation seeking to usurp Farhad Moshiri and lead the Toffees into a brighter era, thus far they have caused far more trouble than they have solved.
And now, we finally know when the conclusion of this frankly tiring era should be, courtesy of Alan Myers.
Alan Myers delivers pivotal takeover update
The Sky Sports reporter is always one looking to ease fan worries, of which there are plenty around Goodison Park.
After all, this has been a club consistently enveloped in misery, with this season in particular really ramping up such negativity.

With PSR drama resulting in two points deductions, and 777 Partners’ lack of urgency only adding to the unrest, an end to this is one which everyone involved with Everton will welcome.
And Myers, taking to X, offered a two-part update on the proposed takeover.
The first detailed how discussions remain ongoing between Moshiri and the Miami-based firm as they seek clarity, whilst the second reads: ‘Both sides met in London yesterday and talks are expected to continue over the next few days as Moshiri seeks clarity and a resolution to complete the deal with an outcome expected before the clubs final home game of the season against Sheffield United on Saturday.’
A light at the end of the takeover tunnel for Everton
At last, there seems to be some kind of end in sight for Everton, at least with regards to 777 Partners’ interaction with the club.
Whilst it might frighten many, to see the only alternative buyer potentially warded off by the various hurdles put in place, if they could not satisfy the Premier League’s four simple conditions then they do not deserve to take over.
Given the stature and history of the Toffees, hopefully, demand following the collapse of the deal will not be in short supply either.
With Qatari interest already referenced, and another American consortium having seen their interest confirmed as ‘genuine’ recently too, that already seems confirmed.
So now it falls on Moshiri to ask the hard-hitting questions and get some answers out of 777 Partners.

Then, more importantly, he must relay that information back to a fanbase sick and tired of miscommunication and misconduct that only regresses the Toffees further.
