Alan Myers makes honest prediction about whether Everton have passed PSR today or not

For years now, PSR has dominated Everton’s interests, in a tiring merry-go-round of mishaps and mistakes.

But, ever since Kevin Thelwell came in, huge steps have been made towards earning some much-needed sustainability, sacrificing big names in favour of a stable future.

Even with the Premier League’s unrelenting efforts to punish them, the Toffees remain unmoved in a show of defiance that has inspired the rest of the division.

After all, ironically after most mocked Everton, they too are now realising just how skewed PSR is to favour those already at the top.

With today marking the official PSR deadline, the fate of the entire Premier League will soon be found out once these accounts are published.

Alan Myers makes Everton PSR prediction

Having sold big and bought with intelligence, it would be truly shocking to see Everton once again in breach and therefore dealt another deduction.

After all, whilst Newcastle United and Aston Villa scramble for funds, Thelwell is actually in the odd position where he has instead begun finalising business for his side.

Jack Harrison is back for another loan whilst Tim Iroegbunam has traded Villa Park for Goodison Park. Even Iliman Ndiaye is expected to finalise his Everton move soon, capping off a remarkable window thus far.

But, naturally, with all these movements, fears have been sparked over whether the Toffees will comply with the much-maligned PSR.

Seeking to ease fan fears, journalist Alan Myers has offered his personal thoughts on the matter, replying to a supporter on X: ‘Honest answer is I don’t know 100% but I believe we are in a decent place regarding PSR, we have reduced a lot of costs over the last year or two but as I say only time will tell I guess.’

Everton have made some really smart sales this window

Although we are only one month in, already Everton have made some really shrewd sales to boost their PSR ranking.

And, with the amount of dead wood they still possess, there could be more yet to come.

Releasing Andre Gomes from his contract at last saw a huge sum exit the wage bill, whilst a £10m fee for Lewis Dobbin represented great business for an academy graduate, even if it sparked outrage as the Premier League tried to close Everton’s PSR loophole.

Having also amassed a further similar figure for Ben Godfrey, the Toffees should be well clear even with the money they spent to make the two signings they have already made.

Hopefully, by the end of the summer, Thelwell will boast a trimmed squad consisting of quality across the board, free from the financial drains of the past.
