Profit and Sustainability Rules have once again been in the headlines after the Premier League docked Nottingham Forest four points.
Everton have already been deducted ten points, although four were handed back last month.
The latest news leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of Evertonians. Forest posted losses far more significant than the Toffees yet have seemingly been given a less severe charge.

Several mitigating factors are reportedly at the crux of why the East Midlanders’ charge is six points less than Everton’s original punishment.
Some critics have even suggested Forest’s punishment is initially worse, with other reasons reducing the number of docked points.
Attention will now swiftly turn to Everton’s second PSR charge. There has always been the assumption that the verdict will be delivered in the middle of next month. April 8 has consistently emerged as a potential date.
And now, in-the-know journalist Alan Myers has shared the latest on when precisely the Premier League hearing will take place.
Alan Myers shares exactly when second PSR hearing will occur
Taking to X on Tuesday, March 19, Myers revealed that the Premier League hearing will take place over the first three days of next week.
“Everton’s 2nd hearing for alleged breach of P&S rules is expected to take place over the first three days of next week,” he said.
So, the club will present its case against the Premier League from the 25th to the 27th.
Quick decision needed for Everton
A fast decision is required for all concerned.
This verdict will impact not only Everton but also other clubs looking to secure their Premier League survival. Until the verdict is settled and the appeals process is undertaken, the current league table will lose credibility.
One positive for Everton is that precedent has now been set. It’s extremely unlikely for another harsh punishment to be announced.
If one or two points are docked, taking your medicine and moving on should be the case. There’s plenty of time left in the season to earn those lost points back.
