Everton have finally learnt the outcome of their appeal against November’s ten-point deduction.
Having been sent crashing down to the foot of the Premier League after being found guilty of breaching PSR, it was not that verdict which drew frustration.
Instead, it was the scale of the punishment which truly sparked widespread furore, with the fanbase in particular making their feelings known.
Through protests and the support of various high-profile figures, including the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, they have finally found out the result of month’s worth of work.
And it is amicable news in the end…
What has been said about Everton’s appeal?
With David Ornstein breaking the news, Alan Myers has sought to further the story by offering some new information on why the reduction occurred.
He would write on X: ‘Main reason we got points back is because it wasn’t a malicious breach’.

Whatever the reason, any remuneration is a huge bonus for a side that has soared out of the relegation zone.
Now onto the next alleged breach!
Everton will certainly take it
Well, things could certainly have been much worse.
The outcome that many likely predicted, there had been a growing belief that there would be some remuneration, with finance expert Dr Dan Plumley having now been proven correct in his assumption.
It feels like this is the most amicable solution, which allows the Premier League to save face somewhat and remain in a relatively strong position without completely destroying Everton in the process.
Given how crushing the initial ruling was too, this now seems like a godsend for the Toffees, who have now moved up to 15th in the table, leapfrogging Nottingham Forest and Brentford in the process.

Hopefully, this will also have a knock-on effect regarding their next alleged breach, which they will also seek to challenge, and use this as a benchmark for cases that are to follow.
It seems that, whilst this will offer some much-needed respite to a club that has been dealt blow after blow in recent months, this is only the start of what will still be a challenging final few months of the season wrought with off-pitch legal battles.
