Alan Shearer now names Everton trio in Premier League team of the week, he said McNeil was ‘unplayable’

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Alan Shearer has named three Everton players in his Premier League team of the week after the impressive win at Brighton on Monday evening.

Indeed, the 5-1 demolition of Roberto de Zerbi’s side was Everton’s best collective performance of the season, and Shearer insists that one player in particular was ‘unplayable’.

The trio lining up for Everton in Alan Shearer’s selection on the official Premier League website are defender James Tarkowski, midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure and winger Dwight McNeil.

On Tarkowski’s towering display at the back, Shearer said: “An absolute warrior at the back for Everton just when they needed it.”

Meanwhile, Doucoure’s midfield performance earned him the following plaudits: “Stunned Brighton with the early opener and then hit a superb second. They’ve got to be the two most important goals of his career.”

However, it was Dwight McNeil’s industrious display that perhaps impressed Shearer the most, insisting the 23-year-old was ‘unplayable’.

Shearer said: “Simply unplayable as he scored two goals and created two more. Everton needed big performances and he stepped up superbly.”

Shearer had plenty of Everton players to choose from in stellar display

The Toffees clearly stunned the Seagulls on Monday with a goal inside the first minute from Doucoure, who doubled his and Everton’s tally before the half-hour mark.

McNeil then added a fourth to wrap the game up on 76 minutes, and though Alexis Mac Allister pulled one back for Brighton, McNeil doubled his tally for the afternoon to round of a comprehensive victory.

The win lifted Everton out of the relegation zone and is no doubt a huge boost to Sean Dyche’s side with three games remaining.
