Everton were hardly good value for their point yesterday, but Sean Dyche won’t care.

For him, it marks yet another Premier League game unbeaten, having stolen a draw from an impressive Fulham side.

It seemed for all the world like the hosts were set to fall to yet another home defeat to the Cottagers, after Alex Iwobi’s arrowed effort had fired them into a second-half lead.

Alas, Everton’s substitute was on hand to head home in added time, with Beto giving an emotional interview after the match detailing his delight at making his mark.

However, he was not the only one who spoke with sadness after the match, as Iwobi looked back on his time with Everton with fondness.

Alex Iwobi reacts to scoring against Everton

Speaking to Fulham’s official website after his goal helped the visitors to a point at Goodison Park, the Nigeria international was as respectful as ever when asked a flurry of questions about his former club.

After all, he enjoyed a solid spell on Merseyside, signed by Marco Silva, with his form transformed under Frank Lampard.

Asked about how he felt to score past Jordan Pickford, he replied: ‘It’s a bit of a bittersweet moment but we have to learn from our mistakes.

‘I’m not going to go and fist pump, I have a lot of respect for Everton. It’s nice to score but I had to tame it down because of my respect for them.

Then asked about how it felt to play at Goodison Park for the final time, he gave an emotional reaction: ‘It’s actually kind of sad, I had great times here. It’s obviously a new chapter for them and hopefully I get to play in that new stadium.

‘I have memories here and it’s one that I always look back on.’

Marco Silva shows a glimpse of what he could have created at Everton

Bringing his well-oiled Fulham unit to Goodison Park, Silva’s men were good value for the three points last night.

However, he could not account for Beto’s last-gasp equaliser, snatching a draw from nowhere.

The way in which the hosts laboured about the pitch all afternoon, failing to compete with the Cottagers, made it all the more painful watching Silva’s side sparkle at times.

Naturally, they were stifled by Everton’s system, but the squad they have assembled has the foundation to do great things in the Premier League.

A fluid front four, and a fine midfield pairing to protect their backline, what the Portuguese tactician has created in West London deserves so much praise.

Silva offered a glimpse last night of what he could have created as the Everton manager, had they shown a little faith in him.
