Former Everton player Alex Iwobi has now sent a one-word message to his ex-teammate Dwight McNeil after Saturday’s win at Brentford.
Everton travelled to the capital with just one point and two Premier League goals to their name but returned to Merseyside with a 3-1 victory over the Bees.
Indeed, with a tremendous collective display, £20m winger Dwight McNeil’s individual performance stood out as he continues to blossom in an Everton shirt.

His efforts against Brentford were recognised by his former Everton teammate Alex Iwobi, who left the Blues in the summer in a £22m deal with Fulham.
McNeil took to Instagram after the 3-1 victory on Saturday, posting: “no better feeling, first full game back – let’s get back to business blues.”
Posting in the comments was Nigerian international and former Toffee Alex Iwobi, who replied: “Baller!!”
Everton lacked creativity in the absence of Dwight McNeil
Everton have missed the creativity and work rate of McNeil in the opening weeks of the season, with the winger picking up an injury in a pre-season fixture at Stoke City back in August.
Indeed, his absence was felt at Goodison as Sean Dyche’s side struggled to get their season going, with McNeil’s return to action at Bramall Lane coinciding with Everton’s first point of the campaign.
The winger’s substitute appearance at Sheffield United was a huge boost for the Toffees and completing his first 90 minutes of the season at Brentford is another milestone in the 23-year-old’s recovery.

The former Burnley player is developing brilliantly under Sean Dyche and has become an integral part of this Everton side since his £20m move in the summer of 2022.
Everton fans will also appreciate McNeil’s confidence in his strikers, with the winger celebrating Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal before the England international had put the ball in the back of the net.
