Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi has perfectly summed up in three words what pre-season is like under Sean Dyche.

The Everton boss is currently undertaking his first pre-season as the club’s manager with the Blues at a Swiss training camp ahead of Friday’s friendly fixture against Nyon.

The 26-year-old midfielder tweeted: “PreSeason Nuh Easy!”

It seems that Sean Dyche is keen to work his squad hard this summer after a disastrous campaign lasts season that almost cost Everton their top-flight status.

Indeed, Dyche was appointed midway through the season following the sacking of Frank Lampard and the work ethic and organization within the squad was evident from the off.

Everton will want to avoid a repeat of the past two seasons when the club have flirted with the drop, and Dyche will demand his squad are fit and ready to begin the new campaign next month.

Indeed, Dyche spoke with the official Everton website to discuss his pre-season regime and revealed that his squad can expect ‘a lot of work this week’.

The Everton boss said: “Pre-season is hard work, anyway, but this is the chance to get the lads together, get them away, with a different feel.

We’ll cram in work because we get them 24/7, not just work on the pitch but off it, too, and you can touch base with them as people as well as players. There’ll be a lot of work this week.”

Everton have yet to make a signing this summer so while it is of course important to prepare the club’s existing players for the coming season, the Toffees must support Sean Dyche in the transfer market.
