Nathan Patterson has revealed the one player who is always supporting and praising him since his move to Everton.
Speaking to Liverpool Echo, the defender was full of positives when discussing Seamus Coleman and how much help he has been since Patterson joined the Toffees last year.
Patterson completed his £16 million switch to Everton from Rangers in January 2022 but struggled to kickstart his career in the Premier League, featuring mostly for the U-23 side before suffering an injury that kept him sidelined for the rest of the season.
The full-back went onto make 14 starts in the top flight last season and is still working hard to meet the expectations placed upon him when he moved south.

With Patterson and Coleman both struggling with injuries over the last year, it has been the Everton captain that has helped his teammate through a tough time.
“I can’t speak highly enough of Seamus,” Patterson told the ECHO. “Ever since I first came through the door he’s been great with me, he’s worked hard with me and he always praises me.

“I just try and learn as much as I can because it would be stupid if I didn’t. He’s a top player but he’s a top guy as well.
“We’ve never had any altercations between each other, it’s always been a good spirit and a good team between us because he just wants the best for the club and if that’s me playing ahead of him, he loves it.”
Nathan Patterson has the best people around him to help him excel at Everton
Nathan Patterson has struggled to pick up a decent run in the Everton team due to injuries and the Toffees’ poor form last season.

However, the Scot will be eager to keep fit this summer and go into the new campaign with a fresh mindset and confidence.
While Sean Dyche’s side have failed to impress recently, Patterson is certainly surrounded by very strong figures to help him learn and develop.
Seamus Coleman is a great captain and leader for the club and is the perfect player to guide Patterson at Goodison Park, while Ashley Young’s recent arrival will also be very useful for the 21-year-old and other young players.
