Everton target and Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga has now been put up for sale this summer by Erik ten Hag.

The 21-year-old attacker was strongly linked with a move to Goodison Park back in January, as the Blues looked to strengthen their forward line.

Indeed, with the departure of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United in a £45m deal in January, Elanga was reportedly seen as an option, though no deal materialised.

However, as per reports in The Guardian, the Swede is now available this summer, and could cost up to £30m.

Whether or not the Blues will attempt to reignite their interest in the young forward remains to be seen, or if indeed the club would be prepared to pay United’s asking price.

Everton’s preferred deal in January was for a loan until the end of the 2022/23 Premier League season, however now it seems that United will look to offload the forward on a permanent basis.

Everton could lose out on Elanga due to financial woes

The Toffees must strengthen their attacking options this summer and the need to do so is perhaps even more urgent now than it was back in January.

With rumoured departures for Ellis Simms, Neal Maupay and Demarai Gray, Everton will have even fewer options than before, with Dyche’s strike force already threadbare.

However, the club’s financial situation is still precarious, and £30m could price Everton out of a move for Elanga.

Indeed, the 21-year-old was reportedly available for as little as £10m as stated in the Liverpool Echo last month, though it seems Manchester United are now looking to triple their asking price.

Elanga has the potential to be a smart addition though at £30m the young forward could be considered a risk, especially as he failed to register a goal in 16 Premier League outings at Old Trafford last season.
