Everton welcome Newcastle United to Goodison Park on Thursday evening and winger Anthony Gordon has shared a three-word message on his social media ahead of the game.
It will be Gordon’s first return to Goodison Park following his controversial move to Newcastle in a £45m deal in January.
An academy graduate at Everton, Gordon forced a move away from Merseyside by missing several days of training amidst speculation of Newcastle’s interest in the 22-year-old.

The attacker, who deserted the club during a turbulent time as the fight for Premier League survival gathered pace, took to Instagram to post a story ahead of Thursday’s fixture. All smiles in a picture at St James’ Park, Gordon wrote: “See you, Thursday!”
Gordon has made nine appearances for the Magpies since his January move but is yet to find the net and Everton fans will hope that remains the case after Thursday’s night’s game.
Gordon has disrespected Everton more than once since his move to Newcastle
Indeed, the former player will likely receive a hostile reception from the Goodison crowd should he make an appearance on Thursday, despite insisting that he meant no disrespect in the manner in which he left the club.

Speaking to Sky Sports back in January, Gordon said: “I didn’t mean to disrespect or offend anyone at Everton, and I’m hoping they know that and hopefully they can reinvest the money now and stay in the Premier League.”

Gordon refused to train at a time when the club was desperately trying to remain in the division and so his assertion that he meant no disrespect is unlikely to wash at Goodison Park.
This week’s fixture is a massive test for Sean Dyche’s side as Everton need to get something out of the game.
