Arnaut Danjuma has labelled Amadou Onana ‘the best’.

Responding to the Belgian’s most recent Instagram post, Danjuma heaped praise on his Everton teammate.

Onana is currently preparing to compete in Belgium’s UEFA EURO Qualifiers over the next week, taking on Azerbaijan this weekend before hosting Estonia on Tuesday.

The midfielder made his international debut in a Nations League clash with the Netherlands last summer and has since earned six caps, including jetting of to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.

Ahead of Belgium’s trip to Baku, Onana published a photo of himself in the national team’s press conference alongside a photo of Martin Luther King, accompanied by the caption: ‘I have a dream’.

Danjuma was quick to respond to his teammate’s post, commenting: ‘The best’. The reply came days after Onana posted another photo of the pair celebrating Everton’s equaliser at the weekend, with Danjuma once again writing: ‘The best is you.’

The duo have clearly become great friends since the Dutchman joined the Toffees on loan this summer.

Despite a promising start to life on Merseyside for Danjuma, the 26-year-old was left out of the national team for their meetings with Greece and Republic of Ireland. The forward only has six caps to his name and hasn’t featured for the Netherlands since a friendly in March 2022.

Onana joins the likes of Nathan Patterson, Jordan Pickford and Vitalii Mykolenko out on international duty, while they are due to return to Finch Farm next week ahead of the clash with Arsenal.

Onana and Danjuma could both be handed starts against the Gunners, though the latter could face increasing competition for his place if both McNeil and Jack Harrison are fit.
