Despite there being less than a week to go in the summer transfer window, there is still so much up in the air regarding Everton.
That pertains to both incomings and outgoings.
It is widely recognised that more additions are needed to provide Sean Dyche with a full set of tools to secure Premier League survival, but at the same time, they cannot plan for that future without first knowing what some of their current stars’ plans are.
One such example is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who remains coy about his Everton future, frustratingly.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United all want Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Fortunately, we have been afforded a much-needed update at last, with the latest coming via Caught Offside.
They have suggested that, with Arsenal joining the race to snag his signature, there are now three Premier League rivals all battling for the striker.
This will be music to Kevin Thelwell’s ears.

It reads: ‘Sources have informed CaughtOffside that Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future remains in some doubt, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle United monitoring his situation as a possible cheap option on the market.
‘Calvert-Lewin looks a far more realistic and affordable striker, and CaughtOffside understands that Chelsea and Arsenal are both keeping him in mind for the final days of the window, along with Newcastle.
‘With just one year left on his Everton contract, Calvert-Lewin is understood to be keen on leaving the Toffees, and they are clearly in a situation where they’ll be under pressure to sell if the right offer comes in.’
Everton could start a bidding war over their striker
Although none of this trio seems particularly incensed to start a bidding war over Calvert-Lewin, should one wade into the market to try and snag him this summer, it could spur the other two into action for fear of losing out.
After all, although hardly the most impressive striker in the world, he does offer unparalleled hold-up play and a vastly different profile of forward to anything any of these clubs have.
There are arguably few marksmen across Europe as proficient with their hold-up play as Calvert-Lewin, and that makes him desirable even if his goalscoring leaves a little to be desired.
The fear over the 27-year-old is that his current £100k-a-week deal expires next summer, and the interested parties will be well aware of that.
So, instead of trying to convince the Toffees to sell him this summer, they could all just wait until next summer and try to tempt just the player to sign a pre-contract agreement to join them.

Calvert-Lewin has already rejected a new Everton contract, further reinforcing his desire to leave.
Dyche will either want him sold this summer or committed long-term, or else face losing him for nothing.
