This summer saw Everton make two loan decisions at the right-back position. Jonjoe Kenny was allowed to join German side Schalke 04 on a season-long loan deal. They then brought in Djibril Sidibe from Monaco on loan, with an option to buy.

Whilst both are temporary deals, could they have a very permanent impact for one of Everton’s marquee players?

The player in question is Everton club captain Seamus Coleman. There is no doubt that the Irishman will go down as one of Everton’s best players of the Premier League era. However, his form has never reached it’s high point again since his horrific leg injury suffered on international duty in 2017.

Meanwhile, Sidibe has taken his chance in the Everton first-team and looks ready to be a regular for the Toffees.

Kenny is also thriving in Germany and Everton have no obligation to sell him to the Bundesliga side.

Everton will surely be looking to pay the release clause for Sidibe if this form continues and Kenny is doing enough to suggest he finally deserves a chance at Everton long-term from next season.

Which would leave Coleman in danger of seeing the curtain being drawn on his Everton career.
