Everton have been linked with a move to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi.

Marcos Senesi has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League over the last couple of years.

As such, Everton have been in contact with Senesi’s representatives ahead of the summer transfer window.

Would this put you off bringing Harry Wilson to Everton this summer? 😬

He's been quality this season too… 😫

The 28-year-old is out of contract in June, so he is set to become one of the most sought-after free agents.

That said, BBC Sport have now issued an update on his future.

Marcos Senesi open to joining another Premier League club

Senesi has been attracting interest from top clubs overseas, with Barcelona and Juventus named as potential destinations.

However, the BBC are reporting that the Bournemouth star is exploring a move to another club within the Premier League.

Nizaar Kinsella wrote: “Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi is increasingly exploring his options for a move to a Premier League rival.

Would a return for John Stones on a free make any sense for Everton? 🧐

“The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning he has been permitted to speak to clubs in Europe about a potential free transfer since 1 January.

“However, several European clubs, including reportedly Juventus, have shown serious interest without yet agreeing a pre-contract deal.

This has led to renewed openness from Senesi’s camp to consider a move within the Premier League, with Chelsea, Manchester United and relegation-threatened Tottenham also linked.”

Kinsella also notes that Bournemouth have made three contract proposals to Senesi, but club insiders are now pretty confident he will depart.

Everton clearly have a lot of stiff competition to land his signature, so they’ll almost certainly have to qualify for Europe to stand a chance.
