Dominic Calvert-Lewin has claimed that himself and Beto could ‘bully teams’ if they both start together for Everton.

Speaking to evertontv, the striker praised Beto and admitted that the pair have had conversations about playing alongside each other this season.

Calvert-Lewin hasn’t started for Everton since he was forced off with a facial injury in their heavy defeat to Aston Villa.

Beto took his place in the starting line-up following his move from Udinese and has since impressed, despite failing to score since his debut in the Carabao Cup.

It was Calvert-Lewin who managed to get off the mark in his cameo appearance at the weekend, making it 3-1 against Brentford to secure their first three points of the campaign.

There has been plenty of talk amongst fans and pundits suggesting the two strikers could be a solid partnership if Sean Dyche was to decide to play them both together.

It now appears that the players themselves are keen on the idea, with Calvert-Lewin admitting he would really benefit from Beto’s presence.

“He’s been excellent since he’s come in,” said Calvert-Lewin.

“He’s a physical presence and I’ve really enjoyed training with him. We’ve had a few conversations between ourselves about us being on the pitch at the same time and how that will look, and how we can make that work.

“It’s been a while since I’ve had someone as physical as myself to be up there at the top of the pitch and to share the workload. A lot of the time, I’ve had to be a battering ram and that sometimes takes away from other parts of your game.

“But I think he’s been top. It’s not easy leading the line for the Toffees. I think other strikers who have come in the past have realised that. I think Beto has got what it takes, and hopefully, we can see ourselves both on the pitch at the same time, bullying teams.”
