There is a very difficult feel around Everton this season.

David Moyes’ side currently reside in eighth place in the Premier League table after beating Crystal Palace just before the international break.

Moyes wants to return Everton to Europe this season, and they looked really well-placed to do so, with Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall taking them up a level since joining in the summer.

Ben Foster reckons Everton have another top player who constantly delivers ‘seven out of 10’ performances.

Ben Foster heaps praise on Jordan Pickford

Former England goalkeeper Ben Foster appeared on talkSPORT on Wednesday and was full of praise for Everton star Jordan Pickford.

Foster stated that Pickford is so consistent and you always know what you’re going to get from him.

“Even for Everton as well, the way that he goes about his business for Everton now, you know, you’re going to get a seven out of 10 from him,” the 42-year-old said.

“And when he comes away with England, the amount of pressure that’s attached to that as well, and the history that England have had with goalkeepers and it being a problem position, I think he has got to be in that conversation because he gives you a seven out of 10.”

Danny Murphy makes bizarre Jordan Pickford claim

After Pickford kept his ninth consecutive clean sheet for England earlier this week, surpassing Gordon Banks’ previous record, there was widespread discussion around whether he’s now world class.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy made the controversial claim that he’s not on that level because of the club he plays for.

Lee Dixon also made a strange dig at the size of Everton, suggesting they aren’t a big club, to which the official Toffees X account fired back.

Whilst there’s nothing to quantify whether Pickford is world class, there is a growing consensus that there are few better goalkeepers across the Premier League and even in Europe.
