Everton will be extremely busy this summer – but striker Beto is adamant David Moyes has to get a deal over the line for one player in particular.
The Toffees are looking to kick on in their first summer window under The Friedkin Group, and first of David Moyes’ second spell in charge.
Everton have enjoyed a fantastic 2025 so far, pulling away from danger in the Premier League thanks to a superb impact by Moyes.

Everton sealed their safety weeks ago, and that has made for a comfortable end to the season.
And thankfully, the final game at Goodison Park last weekend could be enjoyed by all.
But Moyes and the Everton executives will be getting down to business after today, with all eyes on 2025/26 – and one man they’ll be taking a decision on is Carlos Alcaraz.
Beto urges David Moyes to complete Carlos Alcaraz transfer

Since Moyes returned to the club, just one new player has arrived at Everton.
And that man was Carlos Alcaraz, who joined on loan from Flamengo.
Everton had negotiated a buy option worth around £15 million (Liverpool Echo), and it has also been reported that the £15 million clause would become an obligation if he made a certain number of starts.
But it’s thought Alcaraz did not meet the threshold, so Everton are not tied into it.
Alcaraz is a player most Evertonians want to see playing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium next season – and striker Beto is also adamant Everton should be signing him permanently.
He said: “It comes naturally because he has one style of playing that matches with mine.
“He likes to turn and drive with the ball and make the final pass. It’s something I like, when a player gets the ball and drives. It gives me time to do my movements.
“He’s a really good player, I like to play with him and he always says, ‘Beto, today I will make you an assist’, so we have this connection. He’s a really good guy and good player.
“Me personally, I want [Alcaraz to stay]!” he said. “As I wanted [Abdoulaye] Doucoure to stay, I wanted [Joao] Virginia to stay, Ash [Young]. But it is not in my power, what I want is not what is going to happen.
“If what I want is what is going to happen then perfect. If not? It’s football.”
Carlos Alcaraz stance on Everton permanent transfer

It would be a surprise if Alcaraz did not seal a permanent transfer to Everton at this point.
He’s certainly impressing during his time on loan, and the Argentine does have the feel of a player who could become very popular.

Earlier this week, it was suggested Alcaraz is happy at Everton and wants to stay, and the indications from Moyes in press conferences have been positive.
Moyes praised Alcaraz after Everton’s win over Fulham, with the Scot clearly liking what he brings to the table.
Everton fans had chanted for Alcaraz to stay during the Fulham game, and hopefully, they and Beto will soon get their wishes.
