Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs has now said that some Premier League defenders will struggle against new signing Beto this season.
The 25-year-old forward, who arrived at Goodison Park in a move worth around £26m from Udinese, made a ‘big impact’ during his substitute appearance last night.

Indeed, the Portuguese striker put in a player of the match display and spared Everton’s blushes as the Toffees overcame League Two side Doncaster Rovers 2-1 in the Second Round of the League Cup.
Taking to Twitter at full-time, Stubbs was full of praise for Everton’s new striker, stating: “Get in, Beto the difference and had a big impact, a few defenders in the PL won’t like playing against him!! You Beto believe it.”
Everton appear to have found goals and confidence again thanks to Beto
Beto started the game on the substitute’s bench last night though Sean Dyche named a very strong eleven for the trip to Yorkshire.
However, Everton looked dreadful throughout the opening period, and with one misplaced pass after another the home side eventually took a deserved lead, though the linesman did miss a clear offside.

The £26m man was introduced at half-time and made a ‘big impact’ almost immediately, providing Everton’s midfield with a focal point upfront.
After missing a big chance, Beto kept his composure to poke home a first touch finish past Ian Lawlor to level the tie.

Indeed, Beto became the first Everton player to score on his debut since fan favourite Richarlison did so back in 2018 following his £35m move from Watford.
Beto continued to cause Doncaster’s defence problems as Everton began to push for a late winner, with the 6ft 4in striker hitting the post with a bullet-like header.
With two minutes left on the clock, Arnaut Danjuma opened his Everton account with a very smart run and finish to seal the tie late on.
Everton could finally have the striker they’ve been looking for in Beto, and he could indeed have a ‘big impact’ this season.
