Everton fans are expecting some exciting dealings this summer – and there could be an outside chance of the club signing a top young talent.
Everton will be a Premier League club once again in 2025/26, after David Moyes successfully executed a safety mission at Goodison Park.
There is excitement about 2025/26, with The Friedkin Group set to oversee their first summer transfer window.
Everton have been affected by PSR in recent times, but the purse strings will be released a little this summer compared to previous windows.
With the club having weathered financial storms, fans are hoping to see some talented players coming through the door.
And one player Everton have been linked with in recent months is Rayan Cherki.
And it’s possible Everton may have an outside chance to sign the French gem.
Rayan Cherki would prefer a Premier League move this summer over joining Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid

Cherki has dazzled this season for Lyon, and is attracting a lot of attention.
The 21-year-old has stood out regularly, scoring nine goals and making a whopping 18 assists in 36 appearances so far.
Cherki is one of the brightest young talents in all of Europe, and it’s little wonder many clubs want to sign him.
Cherki has also recently been coveted by Real Madrid, who are of course managed for former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti. But according to Realmadrid Confidencial, the winger would actually prefer a move to the Premier League this summer.
It is suggested Real will not look to get involved due to the heavy interest from clubs in England.
That potentially offers Moyes a glimmer of hope. It’s only a glimmer though, because the player has a £25 million release clause, meaning plenty of clubs are going to be in and around him looking to trigger it.
Everton up against it to sign ‘phenomenon’ Cherki
It would be a serious statement if Everton signed Cherki this summer.
But TFG want to be ambitious in their first summer window, and Cherki is a maverick player who would light up the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Cherki – who’s also wanted by Everton’s bitter rivals Liverpool – really is a top talent.
Following Lyon’s 2-1 win over Lille at the weekend, a game in which Cherki scored, his teammate Moussa Niakhate said (via Foot Mercato): “Rayan is a phenomenon. I think this year he’s taking off. He started on the bench, so it’s not easy.
“He was able to be decisive for the team. I’m very happy for Rayan. This is a major asset for our team. We’ll need everyone in the last six games, especially Rayan.”
Having seen the struggles of Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison in the wide areas for Everton this season, a move for Cherki this summer would certainly be exciting for fans.
