Everton are suffering through a terrible run of form at the moment, but off the pitch, their prospects do seem to be taking an upturn.

That is, discounting the obvious points deduction they have already been handed, and the second one they could still suffer.

However, with Kevin Thelwell making huge strides towards sustainability with his transfers both in and out, and a new stadium on the horizon, their long-term future seems more secure.

However, the most outstanding is the new seats added in the northwest corner of the arena, which only adds to the grandeur of the build.

Whilst the roofing and various support structures are essential ingredients of the construction, there is simply nothing that compares to seeing the sea of blue finally creeping into the stadium.

It offers a glimpse into what the future of Everton will actually look like, as the seats that will house thousands of adoring Evertonians for many decades to come.

Whilst things have been bleak in recent years, this stadium offers a glimmer of hope for a brighter future both on and off the pitch.

On it, Sean Dyche’s team will be treated to one of the finest places to play football in the country, surrounded by a state-of-the-art home and backed by a fanbase buoyed by what will hopefully be newfound excitement.

And off it, the commercial opportunities are endless.

Not only will the attendance figures unsurprisingly skyrocket, with an extra 13,000 or so seats certain to see gate receipts rise, but this in turn will bring in far more faces keen on seeing the sites and investing in food, drink and merchandise around the ground.

It will revolutionise the area, and help Everton finally compete with the financial might of those at the top of the Premier League.

The Toffees have been punished for their misguided ambition under Farhad Moshiri’s ownership, but this marks one of few successes which will actually promote sustainability on Merseyside at last.

With each new update anticipation and excitement understandably grows.
