Dominic Calvert-Lewin will get a chance to boost his fitness by playing for Everton in a training match.
Everton have organised a friendly training match with Manchester United on Tuesday, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Arnaut Danjuma, and Vitalii Mykolenko all “scheduled” to feature, as reported by The Bobble on Twitter.
Sean Dyche will be keen to get some minutes into the legs of this Everton trio, and a training match with Manchester United is a great way to get that done. The Toffees will be particularly eager to get Calvert-Lewin ready for Premier League action as soon as possible.
A lack of match fitness forced Calvert-Lewin to sit out Everton’s opening day defeat to Fulham at Goodison Park. The 26-year-old striker was sorely missed, as Everton were able to create plenty of goalscoring opportunities but were without anyone on the pitch capable of producing a finishing touch. A fit and in-form Calvert-Lewin would surely have been able to secure at least a point against Fulham in those circumstances.

Everton need the old Calvert-Lewin back
This is a big season for the 11-cap England man. At his best, he is a talismanic figure up front for the Merseyside club. However, his last two seasons have been ravaged by injury, restricting him to just 34 Premier League outings across the two campaigns, many of which came from the bench.

Calvert-Lewin’s form has suffered as a result. He could only produce two Premier League goals last season, as Everton’s lack of firepower almost saw them condemned to relegation.
Everton fans and Dyche will be desperate for Tuesday’s training match to do its job and aid Calvert-Lewin in taking a step closer to being back to his best.
He will equally be keen to see Mykolenko and summer signing Danjuma benefit from the outing. Both will be expected to play a big role for the club this season.
