A former Everton attacker had one of the best performances of his career on Saturday afternoon as he scored a brace.

The Toffees have always produced talented players from their academy, and even those who don’t make it at the club end up flourishing elsewhere.

Ellis Simms couldn’t stop scoring when he joined Coventry a couple of seasons ago, although, he has dropped off since then.

Tyias Browning has also enjoyed a productive career in China, winning multiple league titles with Shanghai Port and Guangzhou Evergrande.

Now, another former Everton academy star is proving his worth away from Merseyside as he stole the show in the Championship this weekend.

Former Everton attacker Isaac Price stars for West Bromwich Albion

Everton let Isaac Price leave on a free transfer to Standard Liege during the summer of 2023 and he’s since made his way back to English football with West Bromwich Albion.

Price, who plies his trade as an attacking midfielder, made his 18th appearance for Albion yesterday and marked it with a brace against Wrexham.

West Brom fans had a lot to say about his sensational Man of the Match performance.

“Isaac Price is going to the very top. Ridiculously talented footballer but speaking like this? Clever and classy lad,” @LastBlairite posted.

@CJHall83 said: “I said before the season started that Isaac Price was my tip to be the Championship Player of The Season 25/26. I’ve seen nothing in the first two weeks to change my mind. He is a class above this level!”

“Already preparing myself for losing Price in January,” @NicklessKa76058 added.

@jackdakin310 commented: “Isaac Price is some player – no doubt he’ll be playing #PL football soon.”

Ryan Mason praises Isaac Price

Newly-appointed West Brom manager Ryan Mason heaped praise on 21-year-old Price, speaking to Sky Sports post-match.

“We understand his potential and his ceiling; it’s a very high ceiling,” Mason explained.

“But he has to put in the work and stay humble; keep working, and we are impressed.

“We are happy he is impacting games up the pitch; that is ultimately the job of all our attacking players, so he has got his goals today, but I think more importantly are the work rate and effort he put in.”

Price is currently leading the Championship top scorers charts after netting the winner in the Championship opener against Blackburn Rovers, too.
