A new winger seems likely to join Everton this summer.

The Toffees took Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea with a view to signing the England U21 international this summer – although it is understood he needs to do more before Everton give genuine consideration to triggering his £25m purchase clause.

The Friedkin Group also like Leo Scienza at Southampton.

Said El Mala is another option for Everton. BILD stated in April that the Toffees are expected to bid for the FC Koln No.13 this summer – although the same news outlet now say Chelsea pose a threat.

Chelsea inform FC Koln they would pay over £30m for Said El Mala

BILD mention Brighton are planning a €35m (£30m) bid for El Mala, but Chelsea are intending to gatecrash the party and thwart the Seagulls as well as Everton.

Chelsea have signalled in talks with the Germany U21 international’s representatives that they are willing to offer more than Brighton, although it may all hinge on whether the west Londoners can qualify for Europe.

BILD say Chelsea will lose millions that has already been factored into their summer budget if they miss out on European football, although that could actually play into Everton’s hands when it comes to another target.

Everton want Liam Delap this summer, having missed out on the England U21 international in a £30m move to Chelsea last year despite the fact he held positive talks with David Moyes over a switch to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

It has been a tough season for the former Ipswich man with just two goals in 38 appearances.

As a result, Chelsea are already willing to sell Delap, and with a desire to sign El Mala, those at Stamford Bridge might end up accepting a reduced bid from Everton if it helps them afford targets this summer.
