Danny Murphy is baffled by Demarai Gray’s recent social media comments.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the pundit criticised Gray after the Everton winger took to his Instagram account to claim that the Toffees had no respect for him.
The 27-year-old was left frustrated when the club decided to block his move away last week, with Gray remaining at Goodison Park beyond Friday’s deadline.
The forward had been pushing for a move to Saudi Arabia and hadn’t been named in Everton’s squad since their 1-0 win over Bournemouth back in May.

However, Alex Iwobi’s switch to Fulham changed things for Everton and they decided they wanted to keep Gray at the club.
Gray immediately took to his social media, writing: “Everton fans have always been great with me but it’s so difficult to play for someone who don’t show you respect as a person.”

Dyche surprisingly chose to respond to his comments through Everton’s website, saying: “Demarai made it clear that he felt he was getting a move [away from Everton] and he told us a move was done, which was interesting to hear from a player.
“We reminded him of the truth of the fact that no moves are done without this club’s say so. That’s the truth of it.”
While it now appears that Gray will be named as al Al-Ettifaq player today, Murphy has slammed the winger’s way of going about it and has claimed a player that jumps to social media ‘will never win’.
Danny Murphy labels Demarai Gray a coward
Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday, Murphy said: “Is it that difficult to go and knock on a door and have a man-to-man conversation where you can iron these things out or not and leave the room and agree to disagree whatever it is?

“I find it bizarre that players put stuff out about their managers on social media or even the club because you’re never winning. I don’t know how you win. I think it’s a cowards way out to put it out on social media.”
