Everton’s European hopes were slashed in the final 10 minutes of the Manchester City game.
When Everton were leading 3-1, the Premier League table looked very encouraging, as they sat just one point behind seventh.
But, Man City’s managed to bring the game back level late on, which saw the Toffees sink back into 10th and ultimately with it all to do heading into the final three games of the season.
How do you even begin to explain that? 😫
Everton have conceded late on AGAIN… 😡
David Moyes was clearly disappointed in his post-match interview and actually indirectly blamed the late collapse on two specific players.

David Moyes suggests Michael Keane and James Tarkowski cost Everton vs Man City
Moyes has suggested that Michael Keane and James Tarkowski were massively to blame, as they defended Erling Haaland’s goal poorly.
Immediately after scoring the third goal, Man City responded quickly through the Norwegian, who peeled off the two Everton defenders with ease before chipping Jordan Pickford.
The Everton boss pinpointed that as the moment which completely changed the game.
“We let ourselves down, we defended the second goal so poorly and that was the main reason (for the draw).”
Another penalty decision not going in Everton’s favour? 🫣
Bernardo Silva wasn't even looking at the ball 🤷♂️
Moyes did admit that at half-time, he was fearing the worst, so a draw on the balance of play isn’t so bad.
“But at half-time we’d have taken this result because we were hugely outplayed in the first half. I wanted us to get more contact, to get closer to Manchester City because we weren’t anywhere near them.
“Give them credit, they played really well, but we weren’t anywhere near what we’ve done. Probably the poorest we’ve played here against the better teams this season.
“The players made a great effort to get us in the game; when we made it 3-1 we should have been able to see it out but clearly we didn’t do it.”
