Everton got back to winning ways against Fulham this weekend, and the victory marked a significant milestone for David Moyes.
The past month has been pretty tough for Everton, with two defeats and a draw heading into Saturday’s game against Fulham.
However, a dominant display at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with goals from Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane, were enough to leave Fulham helpless and add three points to the Toffees’ tally for the season.
A number of Everton players stood out against Fulham, but credit must also go to David Moyes for setting his team up for success and securing a particularly impressive record for himself, too.

David Moyes loves facing Fulham
That was Moyes’ 33rd time meeting with Fulham in the Premier League, and after yesterday’s 2-0 win, the Scotsman now has 20 victories against the Cottagers.
Digging into his managerial history, that is actually eight wins more than he has accrued against any other team. And, he can now count himself alongside two of the greatest Premier League managers of all time: Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.
That’s because Moyes is now only the third manager in Premier League history to win 20 or more times against a single club.

Ironically, the next-best record for Moyes is against none other than Manchester City, whom he has beaten 12 times in the top flight. It could be a struggle for him to add them to his 20+ hit list in the future, though, given he’s lost his last six meetings with Pep Guardiola’s side.
It’s worth noting, also, that this latest win against Fulham halted a run of four defeats at home to the Cottagers for Everton. Before that, they had gone on a run of 22 consecutive home league wins against Fulham stretching between 1961 and 2018.

How David Moyes compares to Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger
Moyes may now be in the same company as Ferguson and Wenger in this particular statistic, but he’s not really in the same ballpark as a manager.
For a start, Ferguson’s personal track record has eight teams he beat 20 or more times, while Wenger has four.
Moyes is nowhere near when it comes to trophies, either. His Europa Conference League triumph with West Ham and Community Shield win with Manchester United pale in comparison to Ferguson’s 48 trophies and Wenger’s 21.
Across 1,166 games as a manager, Moyes has won 499, racking up a 42.8% win rate. In comparison, Wenger won 971 of his 1,793 games (54.2%) and Ferguson won 933 of his 1,566 (59.6%).
Still, for his consistency and longevity at this level, Moyes simply has to be commended.
