Positive news landed on Merseyside on Wednesday after Everton sealed the signing of Thierno Barry.
David Moyes has been handed his first real new addition of the summer following the permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz being confirmed.
Fans will be hoping this signing kickstarts their business in the market, with Everton needing a huge number of signings before the new season starts.
A new striker was the top priority for Everton in the market; Angus Kinnear can now tick that off his list.
Following the departure of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moyes would be open to signing two strikers at Everton to boost his options.
With Barry now confirmed as a Toffee, our transfer expert Graeme Bailey has provided his insight on how Moyes is set to use the 22-year-old on Merseyside.

What David Moyes has planned for Thierno Barry at Everton
Moyes convinced Barry to join Everton despite having Champions League football on offer with Villarreal.
The work from the 62-year-old since returning to Merseyside cannot be underestimated, and he already has big plans for his latest signing.
Speaking to Everton News, Bailey has claimed Barry will become the starting striker despite Beto’s improved form under Moyes.
“Barry will be leading the line for Everton this season, I have little doubt. Will he start the campaign, I wouldn’t rule out Beto starting at this point, but Barry is going to be the main man long-term,” he said.
“Everton are so excited by this lad, he really is a great signing.
“There are few deals this summer that I have personally been more impressed by than this deal.
“We will have to see how he settles, but I don’t think it is going to take too long for him to be leading the line.”
Everton’s pre-season friendlies pick up soon enough, with an away trip to Accrington Stanley coming up on Tuesday evening.
Barry wants to emulate Romelu Lukaku’s success at Everton and fans will be desperate to see him in action at some point next week.
Thierno Barry could make Everton debut next week
Along with the game against Accrington Stanley, Everton also face a friendly against Blackburn Rovers next Saturday.
Although it is early in the summer, it is going to be interesting to see how Moyes fields his opening starting XI of the pre-season.
Benfica have now approached Beto over a potential move, but it is difficult to imagine Everton allowing him to leave with their current options up top.
Beto has been working hard this summer by training in a warm-weather camp before reporting for duty at Finch Farm.
As Bailey suggests, Beto could well start the season for Everton, and that will hand him an opportunity to continue from where he left off last term.
