Everton are looking ahead to the Manchester City game on Monday – but David Moyes was today asked if the club had received a response about the controversial handball incident in the defeat to West Ham United.
The Toffees lost 2-1 last weekend at London Stadium, in what was a damaging result in terms of the club’s push for European football.
Can someone tell me why this wasn’t a penalty? 😤
Everton are still only three points off sixth.
But with Manchester City up next, they could have done with at least a point against the Hammers.
David Moyes faced reporters today ahead of that game.
And he was asked whether he or the club had heard back from the PGMO, following reports Angus Kinnear was looking for talks to raise concerns about refereeing standards.
David Moyes reveals PGMO gave ‘rubbish’ response to Mateus Fernandes handball

The decision by Stuart Attwell not to give Everton a penalty for the handball by Fernandes last weekend prompted a big response in the football community.
The Premier League had said that Fernandes’ movement was ‘accidental’ in a statement on the day.
Moyes later revealed that he’d asked Attwell when ‘accidental’ even came back into the game.
Today, Moyes shared an update on the situation, telling reporters at his press conference: “It’s always rubbish you get back. You never get anything good back.
Jonathan the secretary spoke about it, and spoke with them, I didn’t do so. But it’s never what you want to hear.”
Moyes was then asked to elaborate, but said: “Not really, no. You should ask them yourself. I would have hoped you would do! They don’t speak particularly well to us when we hear from them.”
This update from Moyes won’t come as too big a surprise to Evertonians.
Why has it taken this long for Everton to complain? 🤷♂️
The club have FINALLY had enough… 😡
Realistically, there isn’t a great deal that can be done about the incident in retrospect.
Everyone knows it should have been a penalty and this should soon be presented as fact when the KMI panel take a vote on it.
Moyes will just hope for no more controversy in this final month of the season as he looks to upset the odds and get Everton into a European competition.
