Many Everton fans have been calling for David Moyes to be replaced.

There is a growing feeling among the Everton fanbase that David Moyes is failing to move this team forward.

As such, the Friedkin Group have been urged to bring in Andoni Iraola, or a more progressive manager with a modern approach.

David Moyes sends indirect message to Everton’s decision-makers

Speaking on BBC Football this week, Moyes reflected back on his first tenure at Everton and how it was crucial that those above him remained patient and didn’t listen to the outside noise.

It almost felt somewhat like an indirect message to the current ownership, the Friedkin Group, with so many supporters urging the American investors to replace the Toffees manager.

“Overall, you also need good people to be above you.”

Moyes continued: “People who didn’t listen to the odd supporter group who are saying we should change the manager, they were board members, straight people.”

Evidently, the 63-year-old wants those in positions of power at the club to allow him time to build and progress the team.

However, Moyes certainly has questions to answer, as he failed to integrate many of the 10 new signings he made this season.

The Friedkins backed him with a club-record net spend last summer, and yet, he persisted with many of the old guard all year.

As a result, Moyes has an ageing starting line-up with little growth in it, so that’ll certainly be a cause for concern for the owners.
