Everton manager David Moyes cast a frustrated figure on Monday night after his side conceded their lead away to Sunderland to only take a point back to Merseyside.
Iliman Ndiaye provided the Toffees with that lead through a stunning solo goal in what was a promising start to the game.
However, Everton failed to capitalise on their strong start at the Stadium of Light, with missed opportunities costing them once again.

TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara was blown away by Ndiaye and the goal he scored against an in-form Sunderland side.
On paper, a draw against this Sunderland outfit is not the worst result possible, but it was apparent that all three points were there for the taking in the opening 30 minutes.
For Moyes, there were some key moments that stood out to him during the game against his former club where the points may have been lost.

David Moyes singles out Thierno Barry after big Everton miss
Following the game, Thierno Barry has been told to look at Jean-Philippe Mateta for inspiration amid his current struggles.
The 23-year-old was handed a rare start as Beto has also failed to prove his worth from the start up top in previous games gone by.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Moyes admitted that Barry’s missed chance in the first half proved very costly.
“We missed a good chance to make it 2-0, then we sat back and that gave Sunderland a bit of confidence,” he told Sky.
Moyes also noted Ndiaye’s stunning goal and Jack Grealish’s opportunity from distance which struck the post.
“We did all the things we hoped we would [at the start], it was a case of would we score. Ili [Ndiaye] scored a very good individual goal, Jack [Grealish] hits the post and when we missed [Thierno Barry’s] chance we didn’t have enough, then we conceded immediately after kick-off. Goals make the difference and can change how you feel as a manager.”
Ironically, ahead of the game, Moyes admitted he could make a drastic striker change by playing someone like Ndiaye up front.

With Barry’s missed chance clearly frustrating the 62-year-old, it is going to leave for an interesting team selection at the weekend against Fulham.
Thierno Barry needs a run in the Everton side
Barry’s miss was not only a frustrating one, but it proved very costly as it quickly saw the Black Cats pull themselves back into the game.
Moyes did note his delight in seeing the likes of Ndiaye and Grealish making their own opportunities, as well as providing Barry with his own.
Ahead of the game, Barry teased an Everton start against Sunderland on his social media channel.
Chopping and changing the striker may not be a wise decision, with a run in the starting XI potentially what could unlock Barry’s full potential.
The Frenchman was pulled off just before the hour mark, with Moyes unimpressed.
- 57 minutes played
- 0 shots on target
- 1 big chance missed
- 45% pass accuracy
- 19 touches
- 1 interception
There is no doubting he did not help his cause on Monday evening, but there should be some positives taken from the position he worked for himself.
