Everton are being forced into a quick turnaround this week following their Merseyside Derby on Wednesday night.

David Moyes has now faced the media at Finch Farm ahead of their next Premier League game on Saturday against Arsenal.

Arne Slot has slammed the Premier League for Everton’s scheduling as he admitted he did not envy their short turnaround.

However, that is the hand which Everton have been dealt and it provides Moyes with some interesting team selection choices to make.

The 61-year-old has endured an injury-stricken two months back on Merseyside leaving him with a real focus on managing the minutes of his players.

Iliman Ndiaye returned to the fold on Wednesday against Liverpool and he will be itching to be included in the starting XI on Saturday.

But there is one player who may not play for the club again after the latest on the injury front.

David Moyes shares Jesper Lindstrom injury update at Everton

On-loan winger Jesper Lindstrom missed the Merseyside Derby through injury earlier this week.

The Denmark international is now running out of time to really stake a claim for his future at Everton.

And that time could be cut even shorter as Moyes revealed to the media he will be seeing a specialist on the groin injury he has picked up.

“No Jesper’s not available. He’s going to get checked with a specialist he’s got a groin problem,” said Moyes.

“We’re half looking to see if it could be a hernia, that’s why we’re just checking it.”

This will be a real frustrating one for the winger after Lindstrom was praised for his Denmark performances over the international break.

The games are running out in the 2024/25 campaign, and Listrom’s future remains uncertain.

Lindstrom may never play for Everton again

If Lindstrom does have a hernia, then the Dane could be set to spend the rest of the season on the sidelines.

Moyes has demanded more from Lindstrom who has failed to find the back of the net in an Everton shirt this season.

This has not been the loan move he would have hoped for in an attacking sense as he has struggled largely alongside the likes of Jack Harrison.

It has been suggested Moyes would like to sign Lindstrom, but his lack of goal contributions and his current injury scare may well put the club off activating the hefty £19m purchase clause.
