Dwight McNeil has been the subject of intense speculation in the last hours – and David Ornstein has now just dropped a major update.
Everton are set to complete the signing of Tyrique George from Chelsea on loan.

And that deal has led to speculation about Dwight McNeil.
Earlier this evening, McNeil was the subject of a bid from Crystal Palace – and we have all been waiting for Everton’s response to that bid.
And now, David Ornstein has reported that it has been accepted.
What would your message to Crystal Palace fans be ahead of Dwight McNeil’s move? 😉
Thank you very much, Crystal Palace 🤣

Everton accept Crystal Palace bid for Dwight McNeil
According to David Ornstein, Everton have accepted Palace’s bid for McNeil.
Taking to X, the journalist said: “Crystal Palace reach agreement with Everton over potential deal for Dwight McNeil.
“Fee ~£20m in place & 26yo #EFC winger undergoing medical before proposed #CPFC move. Race against time to complete + not guaranteed; may require deal sheet.”
The deadline has just passed.
So it remains to be seen if Palace managed to secure a deal sheet in order to complete the move.

If they did, then they will have until 9pm to finalise the move that will take McNeil to Selhurst Park.
Pressure on Tyrique George to deliver
So it remains to be seen if a deal will get done for McNeil to join Palace.
Time is now of the essence and presumably, a deal sheet will have been submitted.
And if McNeil does depart, then it does put a bit of pressure on Tyrique George to deliver, with seemingly no other winger coming in.
Ultimately, Everton appear to have felt as though the money offered by Palace was simply too good to turn down.
