Former Everton and Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli could now be on the move, in typically shocking deadline days fashion.
It is one of the most unexpected deals of the window, with many likely having forgotten the former England international as he silently works on returning to action.
Ever since Dele’s 2023 interview with Gary Neville, where he opened up about the struggles he had endured throughout his football career and beyond, he has won the favour of the footballing world, who have supported him through every fresh subsequent setback.
Injuries have not been kind to him at all, but there is hope that his future is much brighter.
Perhaps the catalyst for such a positive change might have to be a move.
Dele Alli could now leave Everton
The latest on Dele Alli‘s future, which has been a disappointingly silent front for some time now, comes courtesy of Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas.
Speaking live on Sky Sports, the journalist claimed: ‘Lille have shown an interest in signing Dele. The player is technically a free transfer after his deal with Everton expired, but he has still been training with the first team.

‘Everton have been in talks with him for some time about a new contract.
‘Talks are continuing about finding a solution that will see him stay at Goodison Park but there is interest from France from Lille. Because he is a free agent this is not a deal that needs to be concluded today.’
Sean Dyche has been a big fan of Dele throughout their time together too.
The whole footballing world wants to see Dele Alli succeed
Whether it be at Goodison Park or elsewhere, there is not an Evertonian, or a football fan across the world, who wouldn’t want to see Dele go and smash it again.
Ideally he would do it for Everton, but fitness issues just continue to plague the 28-year-old, who was once the shining light of English football.
It was just nine short years ago that Dele first made his move to the Premier League, trading MK Dons for Spurs.
And, it did not take long for him to start to assert his dominance over the division, bursting onto the scene in a way that no English talent has done in decades.
He recorded 18 goal contributions in his debut campaign in England’s top flight, before then shattering all expectations with a mouth-watering term consisting of 18 goals and eight assists.

If he can recapture even a fraction of that talent again whilst keeping fit, the footballing world will be delighted.
If he can do it whilst contracted to the Toffees, Evertonians will be delirious.
