Dele Alli is still out of contention for Everton, during a period where his attacking guile and unbridled creativity would be sorely welcome.

Sean Dyche is having to put up with what he has at the moment, with the immense financial restraints leaving him with a squad lacking any cutting-edge at all.

As such, despite their relentless chance creation, they are still just five points away from the bottom three, admittedly with their six-point deduction largely skewing that place in the Premier League.

Regardless, the reintroduction of Dele is one which would be welcomed by fans, players and staff alike, with his latest post offering an insight into his recovery…

What Dele Alli posted about his injury

Having come so close to a return to first-team action before his latest setback, it feels like nothing is going the way of the MK Dons academy graduate.

First bursting onto the scene with a fire and fury seldom seen before in English football, he captured the imagination with his goalscoring exploits and ability to pick a pass. He was so mature for someone so young, and was seemingly destined for the stars.

That was, before disaster inexplicably struck, and his career was left curtailed.

Now seeking to revive it at Everton, his latest Instagram post pictures him doing all he can to return from injury before the season is up, whilst also taking time to enjoy the smaller things in life.

His caption reads: ‘Little bit of R&R. Little bit of life. A lot of love’.

Not only is he spending time with his girlfriend and gaming, but also it appears he is relentlessly hitting the gym. Hopefully this bodes well for his imminent return.

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur continue negotiations

Whilst the sentimentality of a Dele return to action is one which would surely capture the wider footballing world, at the end of the day, this sport is a business.

As such, the ever-shrewd Daniel Levy is under no illusions when it comes to Everton’s desperation for some added firepower, and likely sees this opportunity as no more than a chance to steal some extra funds from the Toffees.

That is, despite allowing the 27-year-old maestro to leave on a free, with the only funds to be received from appearance and performance-based add-ons.

It is this controversy that is causing such a struggle in these negotiations, as it is renowned the dire financial situation of Dyche’s side.

They can seldom afford to offload a hefty sum on Dele, with his patchy injury record, but would surely benefit should he find fitness for a period.

As such, the two sides are reportedly still locked in talks, seeking to forge a new structure that would benefit both of the teams whilst also allowing the former England international a pathway to return to Premier League football.

After his revealing interview with Gary Neville last year, in which he bravely unveiled the horrors of his past that had led to his present-day struggles, the whole world is hoping for his safe return.

Everton and Spurs must come to an agreement soon, not just for their own stability, but also to allow Dele to start starring once again.
