Everton are in contention to sign Dusan Vlahovic this summer, amid reports.

A story from TEAMtalk claims Everton have been approached by those who represent the Serbia international as he prepares to leave Juventus – the Toffees were also linked to the striker back in June 2025 and again ahead of the 2026 winter transfer window.

Now, Giorgio Chiellini – Director of Football at Juventus – has issued an update on Vlahovic, which suggests a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium might be unlikely.

Juventus confirm Dusan Vlahovic will leave on a free transfer, but he wants a pay rise

The Italian giants have now confirmed that the Serbian will leave on a free transfer this summer when his contract expires at the end of June.

Chiellini said: “I am very sad, he cared about Juve right up to the last minute. He is a serious professional. With these (current salary) figures, he won’t remain in Italy, so it is only fair and legitimate that he is seeking a different type of salary.”

Vlahovic made £370,073-a-week last season, according to Capology, so The Friedkin Group were already facing a significant salary hurdle in order to get this deal over the line.

However, the fact Chiellini is suggesting the 26-year-old actually wants more cash at his next club surely rules Everton out of the equation, and makes a move to Saudi Arabia or the United States seem likelier.

Vlahovic has fared well in Turin with 68 goals in 168 appearances, but The Friedkin Group would be fools to spend roughly £400,000-a-week in order to lure him to Merseyside.

The Juventus No.7 also comes with injury concerns. He made just 11 starts in Serie A last season due to a serious adductor issue, so it would be a major gamble for Everton to hand him over £370,000-a-week this summer.
